Four Pillars of Entrepreneurship

Today, Christopher views his position as a teacher and a business owner as an incredible opportunity to help promote growth in the community.
At the Long Island Barber Institute (LIBI) he has helped and continues to help young people realize their full potential and develop their skills in barbering.
As we walked around his shop, I came to learn that many of his current employees are former students. Christopher even admitted that a few of them were much better barbers than him!
“I don’t want them to work here forever,” he told me.
“I want them to learn and grow and move on.”
His hope is that many of his students, employees, or those who’ve had the privilege of being both, will one day open their own shops.
“Isn’t that the point?” he asked me.
One of Christopher’s most rewarding experiences teaching at LIBI actually came as a complete surprise. Shortly after starting as a full time instructor, he found that many of the schools applicants, simply through word of mouth, were recently released from prison and/or living in shelters.
Christopher admitted he didn’t set out with this goal in mind, however he appreciates the opportunity to help these people.
“I can help those who can’t even get a job, and give them a career,” he declared proudly.
Christopher expects hard work, honesty, and professionalism from all of his students and employees. He hopes that his past experiences and subsequent success can inspire others to achieve the same.
Christopher his humble in so many respects. Teaching — not letting his ego get in the way of elevating his students and employees to a level beyond even him. He pushes himself and others, and he does it in a manner where he seemingly just wants the best for everyone. He cares.
