We Started Here: Greg

Elmont has no shortage of talent. In fact, it may very well have an abundance. Talented musicians, talented athletes; talented people with wonderful ideas about how to improve their community.

However, talent alone simply isn’t enough. And perhaps what makes these people so effective at what they do is the way they combine their talents with an aggressive pursuit of their passions as well.

What are your career goals?

My career goals are to further cement myself as an entrepreneur and creating several businesses amongst the music, sports and entertainment fields. I am currently in works on producing a few high profile documentaries and I am actively pursuing mainstream freelance journalism opportunities to take my craft to a greater audience.

What are your personal goals?

Personally I’d like to continue to grow as an individual and become a mentor to young talents all around. I’d like to affect change in my community as well as society and leave behind a legacy that promotes great character and moral conduct along with persistence and a strong belief in dreams.

How would you describe your work ethic? Where does it come from?

My work ethic is relentless. I work around the clock and when I am not working I am planning what I want to work on next. My work ethic comes from my curiosity. I’ve always wondered why not…and I rather fail at trying to do something than not try at all. A great part of my work ethic comes from a great family upbringing and educational background as well.

What do you believe sets Elmont apart from any other community?

I think Elmont is different from any other community in that there is such a great diffusion of cultures and such a great sense of community interaction. I graduated from a high school that saw 99% of its students graduate, which is unheard of. Elmont is filled with hardworking, blue collared folks which is more than can be said about a lot of towns.

What do you wish there was more of in Elmont?

I wish there was more healthy eating and small business owners in Elmont. It seems we only have fast food places all throughout the town. We should have salad bars, vegan restaurants and other alternative eating sources. Also, we should have fresh, new independently owned bowling alleys, movie theatres, bars throughout the town.

If you could in one sentence, how would you describe Elmont?

In one sentence I would describe Elmont as the perfect platform for any person to begin actualizing their dreams, with endless resources at their fingertips.

The best advice you’ve ever gotten:

The best advice I’ve ever gotten was to find what I love to do, and pursue it.
