Repeat as National Champions in Drill Competition
Mineola, NY – Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano and Acting Nassau County Police Commissioner Tom Krumpter announced congratulated the Nassau County Police Department’s Law Enforcement Explorers for taking home five 1st Place Awards and for earning the National Championship in elite Drill Competition at the National Law Enforcement Conference held last week at the University of Indiana in Bloomington, Indiana.
The week-long conference, which is held every other year, provides Explorers from around the United States with competition-based learning combined with educational, hands-on activities that promote personal growth, teamwork, and career development.
In addition to successful defending their Drill Competition championship, Nassau County’s Explorers placed first in a number of categories in both Team and Individual events, including Best Uniform, Post Development, Crime Prevention, and Men’s Fitness. Thirteen total awards were won along the way.
